“An interior is the natural projection of the soul.”
Coco Chanel
Bedroom
If we had to choose the most intimate room in the house, perhaps our choice would point out on the bedroom. Let's think about it: quite always it's the last room we would instinctively show to our guests. Especially in Western culture, a bedroom represents the most private space, the place where we can get rid of everything, even our clothes, to find ourselves once again. The place where we take back our strength during a regenerating night or where we live our freedom in moments of loving passion. We like to imagine that this room represents our most intimate dimension at its best, able to welcome us with harmony and love, with the right colors, with an enveloping light, preferably warm, that is able to relax thoughts at the end of a busy day . The bed, the bedside tables, an armchair and a few books, a console, a bench or a small sofa, a wallpaper that lights up our imagination, an antique vase, a beautiful mirror or an optical print from the 70s: there are thousands objects that we can evaluate and consider, together with the furnishings, to give harmony to the space.
Beauty is quite always the result of synergies and redundancies, it is a matter of relationships, sometimes manifest, sometimes more imperceptible and secret. Our alcove deserves the maximum care, in every single detail. Here senses are more sensitive, every detail must be thought and cared with particular attention. In our philosophy Eclecticism is an approach that will give surprising results. We must not be afraid of confusion when we think of an interior project, we free the mind, we think about everything and its opposite. But in the end, we decant the melting pot of ideas as it was a good wine that must breathe and we steal from our mind what we need to get a magical space, capable of making life better.
Wardrobe and cloakroom
How would our life be without closets? A life in chaos. The wardrobe is vital, it has the function of containing everything needed by us and at home. Before even thinking about design, let us think well about our real needs and habits. And also in that case, let's ask ourselves some questions:
How much space do I need?
What should I contain?
How do I use the wardrobe?
Will I fold my clothes and I put them in my drawers?
Will I hang everything and do I need any hangers?
Do I need cabinets to keep objects and documents?
Do I need to lock some doors?
Am I sure that I will change my needs over the time?
We study and purchase our wardrobes thinking about the present but also about the future. Time passes quickly and we must not be unprepared. Our needs could change.
If we have enough space, especially in our bedroom, we evaluate the option of a cloakroom. It could be helpful to keep the spaces in order, especially if we know we are not perfect. The study of its interior will be very important so that everything may have its space.
A general reflection we can make for this part of the house - yet appliable to all the aspects of home management - is the following: a space with well-designed furniture, carefully conceived, will help us simplify everyday gestures, making everything easier. We do not exclude custom-made solutions, capable of disappearing, as if they were a white wall, or incorporated in the same color of the walls.
